Case Study: Last Night in Soho

Cinelab  Film  & Digital provided both full film laboratory services processing 35mm and graded film dailies and graded digital dailies - A perfect demonstration of the unique scope of film and digital services we provide.



In acclaimed director Edgar Wright’s psychological thriller, Eloise, an aspiring fashion designer, is mysteriously able to enter the 1960s where she encounters a dazzling wannabe singer, Sandie. But the glamour is not all it appears to be and the dreams of the past start to crack and splinter into something far darker.

Last Night in Soho had its world premiere at the 78th Venice International Film Festival on 4 September 2021, and is scheduled to be released theatrically in Ireland, the UK and the USA on 29 October 2021. The film’s release should have been in 2020, but was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.


A hybrid production, shot on both film and digital formats, cameras and lenses were Arri Alexa Mini, Panavision Primo, C-, G- and T-Series Lenses Panavision Panaflex Millennium XL2, Panavision C-, G-, T-Series, ATZ and AWZ2 Lenses.

The film format was 35mm and stock was Kodak Vision3 250D 5207, Vision3 500T 5219.



Feature Film Services provided by Cinelab Film & Digital:​​ Film Dailies Colourist was Paul Dean, Head of Grading and Scanning 635,600 feet of 35mm film was processed Film scanned via Scanity HDR Film dailies grade utilising Da vinci Resolve 4K select film VFX and edit conform pulls Digital Dailies Colourist was Joshua Callis-Smith CTO / Colourist OCN was shot in ARRIRAW (3.4K) required copying and verification, organised clips for audio sync, digital dailies grading utilising Da vinci Resolve and transcoding for editing.
