Prano Bailey-Bond makes her feature directorial debut with the fascinating-looking horror Censor.
Production has officially begin on Censor, a brand new psychological horror movie from director Prano Bailey-Bond.
The film has been developed in conjunction with Film4, Creative England via the BFI Network, and Ffilm Cymru Wales. The funding has been put together by the BFI, Ffilm Cymru Wales and Film 4, with added support from Kodak Motion Picture and Cinelab London.
It marks Bailey-Bond’s directorial debut, with Helen Jones producing and the mighty Kim Newman one of the executive producers. Niamh Algar and Michael Smiley lead the cast.
The film tells the story of a movie censor who uncovers a horror movie that feels very on point with regards her past. Billed as a love letter to the horror classics of the past, Censorwill have a 1980s aesthetic, and it’s based on a script by Bailey-Bond and Anthony Fletcher.
Our guess is that the movie will be heading for release towards the back end of 2020, and we’ll keep you posted as we hear more.
