Golden Globes 2024: the 81st annual ceremony was hosted by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association in Los Angeles last night. The Cinelab team were delighted to see Yorgos Lanthimos’s POOR THINGS, lensed by cinematographer Robbie Ryan on 35mm film (scanned by Cinelab) pick up two gongs. Best Film (Musical or Comedy), as well as Best Female Actor, Film (Musical or Comedy) for Emma Stone’s depiction of Bella.
On the smaller screen, SUCCESSION was the big winner last the night. Shot on 35mm film, with processing and scanning by Cinelab, SUCCESSION’s Jesse Armstrong collected the Best TV Drama award for his final season of the HBO series. Matthew Macfadyen won Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role on Television for playing Tom Wambsgans, Kieran Culkin won Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Television Series for playing Roman Roy and Sarah Snook won Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Series – Drama for playing Shiv Roy.
