Director Thea Hvistendahl’s Handling the Undead (Håndtering av Udøde) took home four prizes at the 40th Norwegian Amanda Awards. Making it one of the biggest winners on the night.

Lensed by cinematographer Pål Ulvik Rokseth on 35mm film. Cinelab Film & Digital are proud to have provided film lab services including process, scanning and dailies on the film. The finishing colour grade on the feature was also completed at Cinelab by our Head of Colour Darren Rae, working closely with Thea and Pål to set the look of the film.

The John Ajvide Lindqvist adaptation took the awards for Best Cinematography (Pål Ulvik Rokseth), Best Sound Design (Bent Holm and Andreas Franck), Best Make-up (Live Becker Knudsen and Morten Jacobsen) and Best Production Design/Scenography (Linda Jansson).

Hvistendahl’s horror drama Handling the Undead, which premiered at Sundance (where it won the Special Jury Award for Original Music), received the same number of prizes as Dag Johan Haugerud’s Sex. While another Cinelab supported film, Yorgos Lanthimos’s Poor Things won the award for Best Foreign Language Film.

The ceremony took place in the Festiviteten Concert Hall on Friday 23 August as part of the Norwegian International Film Festival in Haugesund.
